Sports performance

I have over 3 decades of training experience in multiple disciplines, including hypertrophy training, kettlebells, Armwrestling and Strongman. This has provided the base for me to compete in strength sports for nearly 2 decades.
The first 8 years of this, I was highly decorated at national level in Armwrestling, and I represented Great Britain at the 2009 and 2010 World Armwrestling championships where I placed in the top 25, and then on to representing the UK on the Armwars professional Armwrestling circuit across Europe.
Unfortunately an injury forced me to retire from the sport, but that led to where I am now which is Strongman.
Since starting the sport, I have had multiple podium finishes, qualified for England’s strongest man u105kg, finished 5th place at the Official Strongman Games European championships, 16th and 24th at the Strongman Games World championships in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
As a coach of 15 years’ experience, I have developed expertise in the following 3 areas.

1.       Coaching athletes.

I have taken clients to national titles and podium places as well as World titles. I work with people training for Powerlifting and Strongman, developing programmes that account for training experience, strength levels and capacity for training and recovery. With smart, diligent programming, I can help you become a better athlete, increasing your strength, conditioning and competition readiness.

2.       Helping beginner and intermediate lifters looking to either start their journey, or increase their lifting knowledge and skill set.

Not only do I teach them how to lift correctly for their body type, but also how and why certain exercises are implemented to improve overall strength, hypertrophy and conditioning. The end goal here is that each client will learn the skills to train without my guidance should they chose to do so (this would seem counter intuitive as a business, but I am an educator first and foremost).

3.       Training people in their 30s, 40s and older.

This is a demographic I really enjoy working with and where my experience in training volume, intensity and recovery as an older athlete really comes into it’s own.
As we get older, and less active, testosterone declines, our libido drops, sleep is negatively affected, cortisol increases and we gain fat around the abdomen.
Not only this, but our bodies start to break down, muscle mass reduces and bone density decreases making us weaker and more prone to injury and illness.
Strength training acts to reduce and slow down these effects, so there is no better time than now to start, and see an improvement in heart health, mental health, sleep quality, libido and body composition. You can regain the strength of your youth and enjoy a more active life with your children.
As we become more experienced in our training, progress can stall and injuries can become more frequent and take longer to recover from. This is where the right program can make all the difference, especially if you have long lasting injuries that you feel are stopping you from getting what you want out of your training.
Alongside my coaching, I also promote Strongman competitions, whether they are gym based qualifiers, or more recently, the Static Monsters World Championships where 65 athletes from 16 countries competed in multiple weight classes.
If you are looking for a coach with a wealth of experience and expertise, I would love to hear from you. I offer my training packages as either 1 or 2 sessions per week, priced per calendar month, which you can find here.
